Damn, that man could tell a story. Was there ever a song with more vivid imagery? Ok, don’t answer that, but it must be up there.
We’re back in Double Drop D tuning, open position. Key of D. I seem to spend a lot of time here. It’s a good balance between a ringing, resonant open tuning and (at least somewhat) familiar chord shapes.
I’ll continue to talk in roman numerals* but the actual chords are: I - D; IV - G; V - A; ii - Em9 and vi - Bm.

* if there’s interest, I’ll do a little primer on understanding chords by their position in the scale, rather than by name. It helps a lot, especially when you get into open tunings, where traditional chord shapes get a bit wiggly
